🌍 Celebrating Diversity 🌈 In our final week of term, our focus turned to learning about diversity. We’re helping children build a strong understanding of important values like respect, fairness, democracy, and the richness that comes from living in a diverse society. 🤝 This week, we have been encouraging pupils to ask big questions, 🌟 explore new ideas, and think about their place in our shared world. With over 8 billion people on Earth 🌎 and a planet that's 5 billion years old, there’s so much to discover! 🧠✨ At the heart of this learning journey is literature that sparks curiosity and discussion. Reading remains one of the most powerful ways for children to learn and grow. Alongside books, pupils will also explore through 🎶 music, 📖 storytelling, and thoughtful activities that encourage them to slow down and reflect. 🌱 Here’s a quote to reflect on as a school community: “A community is a place where people know each other, care for each other, and help shape each other’s lives. It’s about trust, shared space, and belonging.” – inspired by Wendell Berry 🏡💬 Let’s work together to help our children feel connected, curious, and confident in a diverse world. 💫🌐 Mr Newell

It was celebration time for our wonderful Year 6 pupils today. An amazing group of children that we are incredibly proud of 🌟 In the penultimate week of term, the rest of the school was as busy as ever…learning, collaborating, thinking, exploring and above all, having fun! ♥️ Next week, we come off timetable for our Diversity Week. Each class will be learning about a different country, covering all our continents. At the end of the week, we will share our findings across the whole school, learning more about the unique and diverse world we live in 🌍 All our parents and carers are invited in on Friday afternoon so the children can share their learning with you too before we head in to the half term break. We hope you can join us! 🙏🏼 Happy weekend everyone. The OVPA Staff 💙

And that’s a wrap! 🙌🏼 🌟 🙌🏼 SATs week is officially OVER and the Year 6 children have been incredible. We are so proud of them ♥️ I’ve been really impressed with everyone’s commitment to getting ready for this week. The dedication to their ‘Learning by Questions’, their mindset and attitude, their determination and resilience. Everyone wanted to do their best this week and we cannot ask for any more than that 🙏🏼 Thank you to our parents and carers for all their support in getting the children to school early and being there for moral support. It means so much. Huge thanks to Ms Bazell, Mr Ferrandino, Mrs Roberts, Mrs Broomfield & Mr Homewood who have given the children high quality teaching, support, reassurance and the best possible chance to do well. I couldn’t ask for a better team of staff 🥰 Now it’s time to celebrate our wonderful children and all their hard work and efforts. WELL DONE YEAR 6 🎉 Mrs Campbell 💙

We would like to wish all our Year 6 pupils the very best of luck with their SATs this week 🍀 The children have worked their socks off and have been fully prepared by our skilled and dedicated staff team. They are so ready and now it’s time to show off everything they know and can do! 👏🏻 It will be normal to feel nervous, but we are confident that once the tests are underway, the children will find that they are very familiar to them. All the practice will pay off. We know that these tests do not measure everything our pupils can do, but whilst they are the statutory measure of children at the end of primary education, we will make sure they are the best prepared they can be! ✅ Show them what you’re made of Year 6 - and that is that you are all kinds of AMAZING! 🌟 Have a chilled evening and an early night, ready for your SATs breakfast in the morning. We totally believe in each and every one of you and will be here to support you every step of the way 💙

It may have only been a four-day week, but we still managed to achieve everything planned 🙌🏼 OVPA had a very special visit from our wonderful CEO, Dr Karen Roberts ahead of her retirement at the end of the year. Dr Roberts was invited to a speciality tea of fresh coffee, pork pies and Jaffa cakes (all her favourites). Some of the children shared the difference their ACE sessions make in reaching their goals and aspirations. Dr Roberts visited our Year 6 pupils who were working exceptionally hard as always and wished them well for their SATs next week. It was an absolute pleasure to thank Dr Roberts for her hard work and commitment to all our children across our 45 schools in TKAT. She will be missed but we wish her a very well-deserved retirement ♥️ Learning experiences across the school encompass a range of activities, interactions and environments that individuals use to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes. These experiences range from formal education to hands-on projects and every day interactions which all lead to personal growth and understanding. It’s a privilege to watch our pupils grow and at this time of year, they really bloom. We are always so proud 🌺 Happy weekend all ☀️ The OVPA Team 💙

A wonderful week at OVPA where we have taken advantage of the beautiful weather ☀️ We have enjoyed seeing so many of our parents and carers this week when they have met with their child’s teacher. It’s always a pleasure to share how well your child is doing and celebrate all they have achieved 🌟 Attendance this week has been above national average which is fabulous and Orca Class enjoyed a reward for having the highest attendance last term. The attendance race is back on for this term and the 15 day streak prizes are on the horizon! Keep it up and make every day count 💪🏻 👏🏻 Enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we will see you on Tuesday 💙

A great first week back and wonderful to see so many of our pupils enjoying the outdoors as part of their learning ☀️ Our assemblies this term have a theme of ‘Diversity’ where we are looking at what makes us unique and celebrating our differences. In the last week of term, we come off-timetable to explore diversity at a deeper level and will be inviting our families in for Open Learning on the last day of term. 🥰 This term, we have invited PC Eastes to regularly visit our school. He will be outside our gates to ensure that everything is calm and orderly as our pupils come in and out of school. PC Eastes will also be talking to our Year 6 pupils in preparation for secondary school. 👮♂️ It has been wonderful to see lots of smiley faces back in school. 😊 Have a great weekend 🙌🏼 The OVPA Team 💙
